Intuition and an inner voice told Billy Ray Cyrus to buy a guitar when he was a 20 year old Georgetown College student on a baseball scholarship. After losing a two year gig at a bar in Ironton, Ohio, and all of his equipment in a fire, Cyrus ventured, like so many country boys before him, to Nashville looking for a recording contract. Mid 1992 Cyrus’s first album was released with a catchy tune and light hearted lyrics, Achey Breaky Heart, an almost instant crossover success.
