Getting the girls together for a Galentine’s outing? Pack a big bag — maybe bring a few extra — because there’s a lot that awaits.
Whether it’s Valentine’s Day weekend or another time the whole crew can meet up, February is girls’ month out here at French Lick Resort. And in the valentine’s spirit, here are 10 perfect couples. Mix or match these 10 great ways to spend Galentine’s with the girls.
Spa Day + Table One
Let’s cut straight to the good stuff.
Spa days are the best days, and we’ve expanded our menu of treatments so everyone in your group will find something to love. When visiting The Spa at French Lick, you’ll find treatments unique to us (like the Pluto mineral bath, Moroccan Rhassoul clay wrap and the Sacred Stone Massage Experience), plus familiar favorites like the Swedish massage, classic mani/pedi and facials.
Once you’re fully rejuvenated and looking your best and brightest, get together for a private dining experience at Table One. This is our private table inside Sinclair’s Restaurant with a menu personally selected by our chef. Always a show-stopper.
Truffles and Cocktails + Live Music in the Atrium
Does it get any better than this?
Stop by Xanadu Coffee & Creamery for a sweet bite, order your favorite cocktail from Ballard’s Bar, then find a good seat in the West Baden Springs Hotel atrium to catch up with the group. Try one of the February specialty cocktails: Orange Chocolate Martini, Cherry Limeade Highball or the Blushing Señorita featuring tequila and a pop of raspberry. Nightly live music is from 5:00 to 9:00, and if you visit on Friday or Saturday, catch Late Night Jazz until midnight in the library.
Long Walks + Pool Relaxation
Did you know there are roughly 14 miles of paved and wooded trails here? After you’ve taken a stroll outdoors (or go for an indoor walk if the weather dictates), head to the pool to get off your feet and relax. If you’d like to crank up the temperature, French Lick Springs Hotel and West Baden Springs Hotel also feature a hot tub at their pool complex. Pools are open until midnight, so sit and soak to your heart's content.
Carriage Ride + Dining at Sinclair’s Restaurant
Because sometimes you need to slow down with a quiet evening and enjoy the finer things in life. Huddle together on your own private carriage ride, then head inside West Baden Springs Hotel to warm up with a few glasses of wine and an exquisite dinner at Sinclair's.
Yoga + Afternoon Tea
This is your go-to itinerary if you’re coming on a Saturday. Rise ‘n shine to work up a sweat with an hour-long yoga session at West Baden Springs Hotel — perfect for all levels, beginners to advanced.
Take a few hours to rest, recharge and explore, then sit down to Afternoon Tea service. This truly is the definition of “treat yourself.” Bring a fancy outfit for the occasion (extra credit for a big hat), warm up with your choice of tea, and nibble on sweet and savory treats.
Breakfast in Bed + Dinner at 1875: The Steakhouse
Any proper Galentine’s means eating like royalty. Sleep in, call on your ol’ friend room service, then save a big appetite for dinner at 1875: The Steakhouse. We recommend a chocolate martini, queen cut filet and grilled asparagus — but you won’t go wrong with any order here.
Bowling + Valentine’s Tasting Train
An experience to feel like kids again, and a grown-up excursion on the rails. Head down to Pluto’s Alley at French Lick Springs Hotel and roll a round or two. Then it’s all aboard a tasting train on the nearby French Lick Scenic Railway. Valentine’s chocolate tasting trains and Valentine’s brunch trains leave the station on select dates in February.
Weekend Events + Casino Nights
Mark your calendar for a Valentine’s Day concert with Brett Young on February 14, or a Saturday afternoon Wine & Canvas session on February 22. No matter what day you visit, there are jackpots waiting to be won 24/7 at French Lick Casino. Which casino game is your go-to?
Shopping + Dessert
You had us at shopping. And dessert.
From décor to clothing to locally made artisan products, the boutiques and shops at French Lick Springs Hotel and West Baden Springs Hotel are full of great finds. Don’t forget to browse the retail shop at The Spa at French Lick, which is full of premium products that allow you to bring the spa experience home.
Once you’ve scoped out the shopping scene, have a seat at Ballard’s in the Atrium under the West Baden Springs Hotel dome. It’s time for dessert first. (Or maybe a dessert matinee, depending on the time of day.) The spiced Grand Marnier Bundt Cake will warm you up on a chilly day, and the Warm Pie à la Mode is a taste/temperature sensation.
Winter Horseback Ride + Local Wineries
Our outdoor adventures don’t stop in the winter, and that includes horseback rides at our stables. It’s always nice to unplug for a bit and experience the late-winter serenity of the Midwest.
And a glass or two of wine? That’s always nice, too. Explore one of the local wineries within driving distance — head to French Lick Winery here in town for a wine tasting, or visit Patoka Lake Winery which has everything from locally roasted coffee to mulled wine plus hot soup and comfort food to enjoy by the fireplace.
