After you’ve taken a stroll outdoors (or go for an indoor walk if the weather dictates), head to the pool to get off your feet and relax. Once you’ve scoped out the shopping scene, have a seat at Ballard’s in the Atrium under the West Baden Springs Hotel dome. It’s time for dessert first. (Or maybe a dessert matinee, depending on the time of day.) The spiced Grand Marnier Bundt Cake will warm you up on a chilly day, and the Warm Pie à la Mode is a taste/temperature sensation.
Winter Horseback Ride + Local Wineries
Our outdoor adventures don’t stop in the winter, and that includes horseback rides at our stables. It’s always nice to unplug for a bit and experience the late-winter serenity of the Midwest.
And a glass or two of wine? That’s always nice, too. Explore one of the local wineries within driving distance — head to French Lick Winery here in town for a wine tasting, or visit Patoka Lake Winery which has everything from locally roasted coffee to mulled wine plus hot soup and comfort food to enjoy by the fireplace.
