It is one of the most storied careers in modern music. Clint Black surged to superstardom as part of country music’s famed Class of '89, reaching #1 with five consecutive singles from his triple-platinum debut, "Killin' Time." Perhaps most impressively, Black wrote or co-wrote every one of his more than three dozen chart hits, including "A Better Man," "Where Are You Now," "When My Ship Comes In," "A Good Run of Bad Luck," "Summer's Comin'," "Like the Rain" and "Nothin' But the Taillights," part of a catalog that produced 22 #1 singles and made him one of the most successful singer/songwriters of the modern era.

Saturday, August 8 • 8pm (Doors open at 6pm)

Opening Act at 7pm

Hoosier Ballroom

With a six-decade career, Willie Nelson has earned every conceivable award as a musician and amassed reputable credentials as an author, actor, and activist. He continues to thrive as a relevant and progressive musical and cultural force.

In recent years, he has delivered more than a dozen new albums, released a Top 10 New York Times bestselling book, again headlined Farm Aid, an event he co-founded in 1985, been honored by the Library of Congress with their Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, received his 5th degree black belt in Gong Kwon Yu Sul, headlined the annual Luck Reunion food and music festival during SXSW, launched his cannabis companies Willie’s Reserve and Willie’s Remedy, and graced the covers of Rolling Stone and AARP The Magazine.

For 2019, he released Ride Me Back Home, a new studio album that captures a reflective upbeat journey through life, love, and time’s inescapable rhythms viewed from Willie’s inimitable perspective. In January 2020, the title song received the Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance, making it his 10th Grammy win. In April 2020, Willie’s next set of 11 newly recorded songs will release on his album First Rose of Spring — an atmospheric soulful showcase of beautifully-written songs and poignant performances. These new songs and performances add to his classic catalog, and finds Willie Nelson rolling at a creative peak, writing and singing and playing with the seasoned wit and wisdom that comes from the road, which he still travels along performing for fans.

NEW DATE

Saturday, August 15 • 8pm (Doors open at 6pm)
Hoosier Ballroom

Out of an abundance of caution, French Lick Resort and Grand Funk Railroad have decided to postpone the concert scheduled for March 14. The concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2020. All tickets purchased via Ticketmaster will be transferable and honored at the door for the August 15 show. Your Ticketmaster purchases also have a refund option, which is available through your Ticketmaster account. French Lick Resort continues to welcome guests with our established commitment to customer care and safety. We look forward to welcoming you in your next visit.

This is “Some Kind of Wonderful”: Grand Funk Railroad will roll through French Lick while marking a 51-year milestone. They’ll be making 40 stops on their Some Kind of Wonderful Tour 2020, and their high-energy show is sure to include some of their mega-hits such as “We’re An American Band,” “I’m Your Captain/Closer to Home,” “Locomotion” and, of course, “Some Kind of Wonderful.” After forming in Flint, Michigan in 1969, Grand Funk Railroad played to sold-out venues worldwide — a 1971 show at New York’s Shea Stadium sold out faster than the Beatles. Grand Funk’s legacy still reigns over the classic rock landscape 50 years later, a testament to the influence and staying power of one of classic rock’s classic acts.
