Jiwon Jeon did not have the same fireworks in the final round that she was able to produce in the prior two days, but her closing performance was just as commanding. The 26-year-old birdied her 72nd hole to close the tournament with a 1-under 71 and win the French Lick Resort Charity Classic by three strokes.
Jeon joined Gabriela Ruffels and Jenny Bae as the only two-time winners on the Epson Tour in 2023. The Republic of Korea native separated herself from the field with a 64 on Friday and a 66 on Saturday to finish at 15-under for the tourney.
The Pete Dye Course at French Lick presented a challenge on the last day, with the day's low score being carded at 4-under. With tough pins and strong wind, the leaders had a challenging course to navigate all day. Kristen Gillman (12-under) finished three strokes back in second place and Maddie McCrary (9-under) took third while Ruffels and Bae tied for fourth at 7-under.
