In a tense finish with PGA Tour cards hanging in the balance until the final putt, Braden Thornberry birdied the 18th hole to record a 6-under 66 for a 1-stroke victory in the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance. Thornberry finished at 9-under to edge out Brian Campbell, Alistair Docherty and Doc Redman, who finished in a three-way tie for second place in the first year of the tournament being contested at The Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort.
Thornberry was 51st in the points list entering this final event of the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour season, and the victory boosted him into 16th position. While Thornberry claimed the trophy, many others also had reason to celebrate.
The top 30 golfers in the points list earned their PGA Tour cards, giving them full PGA Tour status for the 2025 season. Among the honorees were Matt McCarty, who finished No. 1 on the points list for 2024, and 20-year-old Aldrich Potgieter, the second-youngest graduate in Korn Ferry Tour history — trailing only Jason Day who was eight days shy of his 20th birthday upon graduating in 2007.
